The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued a red alert for Chamba, Kangra, and Mandi districts as heavy rains continue to lash Himachal Pradesh.

In the past 24 hours, light to moderate rain was recorded in most parts of the state. Heavy rain occurred in isolated places in Kangra, Mandi, Bilaspur, and Hamirpur districts. Kangra district recorded the highest rainfall at 180 mm, followed by Guler in Kangra with 161 mm. A few places in Hamirpur also saw heavy downpours.
