Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Saturday that Pakistan was scared of PM Modi and the reason why ceasefire violations had reduced on the borders in the Jammu sector.
While addressing a rally in the Mendhar area of the Jammu region, Shah said “The borders are silent and people are living in peace all because of Prime Minister Modi.”
He said if Pakistan fires one bullet, India will respond with an artillery shell.
Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on Pakistan in his speech for the first time during the poll campaign in J&K.
“During the Abdullahs' reign, the region was constantly shelled by the Pakistani army. If Pakistan resorts to any mischief by firing a bullet, we will respond with an artillery shell,” Shah said, daring Pakistan not to seek any misadventure on the borders.
Shah lambasted the National Conference for promoting terrorism in the Union territory. The National Conference had previously raised questions about the BJP’s rule after a recent spurt in terror-related activities in the region.
He added that “the region has been destroyed by terrorism since 1990”, during the PDP-NC Rule, people belonging to disadvantaged groups were deprived of their rights.”
He accused Farooq Abdullah of giving guns to youth to destroy their future.
“We will also give guns in the hands of Paharis, Gujjars, and Bakerwals through police recruitment and recruitments in the army and other forces so that they can fight the terrorism with full might and save their motherland,” Shah said.
Furthermore, he said, “Let me tell you, even if Farooq and his son Omar turn themselves upside down, we will not reverse the reservation to Paharis, Gujjars, and Bakerwals.”
He said three families, Abdullahs, Muftis, and Gandhis, are responsible for the killing of 40,000 people. “It was because of these three families that J&K didn’t see Panchayat, BDC, and DDC polls for a long time. Today, over 30,000 representatives of panchayats, blocks, and districts are enjoying the fruit of democracy,” he said.
Highlighting the background of his rally, Shah said, “It was the request of their candidate Murtaza Khan that made me come here to address this rally.”
“I will stay here for the night if you (voters) give a mandate to Murtaza” he said.
