Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with voters and party workers in Assam through the NaMo App on March 30, as the Bharatiya Janata Party steps up its campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections.
According to a statement issued by the Assam BJP, the Prime Minister will engage directly with members of the public and party workers at 1 pm on Monday, focusing on key issues surrounding the polls.
“With a strong focus on the forthcoming Assam Legislative Assembly elections, the state Bharatiya Janata Party is set to draw public attention through the dynamic and visionary outreach of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” the statement said.
The virtual interaction is being seen as a major outreach initiative aimed at mobilising grassroots support and strengthening voter connect across the state ahead of polling.

Meanwhile, the electoral contest has narrowed, with 722 candidates remaining in the fray after 67 contenders withdrew their nominations on the final day of withdrawal. Earlier, 815 candidates had filed 1,389 nomination papers for the 126 Assembly constituencies. Following scrutiny, 789 candidates were found eligible to contest.
In parallel, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to launch an intensive campaign for the BJP in the state. Shah is scheduled to arrive in Guwahati on Saturday, where he will lead a roadshow in support of the party’s Guwahati Central candidate Vijay Gupta.
The roadshow will commence from Arya Vidyapeeth Playground and traverse key parts of the constituency, followed by strategic meetings with state party leaders.
On Sunday, Shah is expected to continue his campaign with rallies at Dhekiajuli Tea Estate and Tihu, backing candidates including ministers Ashok Singhal and Chandramohan Patowary.
Polling for the 126-member Assembly is scheduled for April 9, with counting of votes set for May 4.
