Catherine, the Princess of Wales, appeared in public for the first time since being diagnosed with cancer, attending a military parade in central London to celebrate the official birthday of King Charles III on Saturday.
Known widely as Kate Middleton, she travelled in a carriage with her three children at the beginning of the yearly celebration and then stepped off to observe the events from a designated spot.
This appearance happened almost three months after the princess, who is 42 years old, disclosed that she was undergoing chemotherapy treatment. Before this event, she had not been seen at any public function since attending a Christmas Day service last year.
In a Friday evening statement, Kate Middleton said she was "making good progress" with her treatment, which is set to last several more months, but was "not out of the woods yet."
"I'm looking forward to attending the King's Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer," the princess said.
Kate Middleton's revelation that she was battling cancer was made public shortly after it was announced that her father-in-law, King Charles III, had also received a cancer diagnosis.
Neither of them has disclosed the specific type of cancer they are facing.
