The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday declared the Class 10 board examination results, with an overall pass percentage of 93.7, marking a marginal rise from last year’s 93.66 per cent.
Girls once again outperformed boys, recording a pass percentage of 94.99, about 1.3 percentage points higher than that of boys, officials said.
More than 24.71 lakh students appeared for the examination, which was conducted at 8,074 centres across the country.
According to CBSE data, 55,368 students scored above 95 per cent marks, while over 2.21 lakh candidates secured more than 90 per cent, reflecting a strong overall performance.
At the same time, more than 1.47 lakh students have been placed in the ‘compartment’ category, although this number is slightly lower than last year, indicating a modest improvement.

This year also marked a shift in the examination pattern, with CBSE introducing two editions of the Class 10 board exams. It was mandatory for students to appear in the first edition, the results of which have now been announced.
Officials said the revised system is aimed at providing students with greater flexibility and reducing academic pressure, allowing an additional opportunity to improve performance.
The board maintained that the examination process was conducted smoothly, with measures in place to ensure fairness and transparency.
The marginal increase in the pass percentage, along with a decline in the number of students in the compartment category, points to a steady trend in academic outcomes.
The CBSE Class 10 results are a key milestone for students, as they determine subject choices and academic pathways for higher secondary education.
