Mumbai Police have arrested a man and a woman for allegedly trying to gain unauthorised access to Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartments in Bandra (West), on two consecutive days this week. The arrests were confirmed by police officials on Thursday. According to the police, the two individuals — identified as Jitendra Kumar Singh, 23, from Chhattisgarh, and Isha Chhabra, 32 — made separate attempts to enter the actor’s heavily guarded building on Tuesday and Wednesday.
On Tuesday morning at around 9:45 am, Singh was first spotted loitering near Galaxy Apartments. A police constable assigned to Salman Khan’s security detail approached him and asked him to leave the area. In a sudden fit of anger, Singh smashed his mobile phone on the ground.
Later that same evening, Singh attempted to enter the premises again — this time inside a car belonging to a resident of the building. While it remains unclear how he managed to access the vehicle, police were able to stop him once more. This time, he was detained and handed over to the Bandra Police Station for questioning.
During interrogation, Singh told officers that he simply wanted to meet the actor and had tried to sneak in because police were not allowing him access to the building. No explanation was provided for how he entered the resident’s car.
Just hours later, in the early morning of Wednesday, Isha Chhabra made a similar attempt to reach the actor’s residence. Around 3:30 am, she managed to reach up to the lift area of Galaxy Apartments before being intercepted by the security team.
Both Singh and Chhabra have now been formally arrested on charges of trespassing, police officials confirmed.
This latest breach has once again raised concerns about Salman Khan’s security. On April 14, 2023, two assailants on a motorcycle opened fire outside Galaxy Apartments. It was later revealed that the shooters were linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, a group notorious for targeting high-profile figures.

In the aftermath of the attack, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) disclosed that Salman Khan was at the top of a list of 10 individuals marked for assassination by Bishnoi. The motive reportedly stemmed from Khan’s 1998 blackbuck poaching case, which angered the Bishnoi community — a sect known for its commitment to wildlife protection.
As a result of these threats, Salman Khan was granted ‘Y-plus’ category security cover by the Mumbai Police, which includes a dedicated team of armed personnel. Additionally, Khan undertook major renovations to strengthen the security infrastructure of his residence.
The situation intensified months after the April 2023 shooting, when NCP leader Baba Siddique — a close friend of Salman Khan — was murdered by the Bishnoi gang. The high-profile killing prompted authorities to further increase the security cordon around Khan’s home. Siddique was widely known for hosting grand iftar parties, often attended by Salman Khan. Following the assassination, Khan personally visited Siddique’s home and hospital to offer his condolences.
During a press conference in Mumbai in March 2024, while promoting his upcoming film Sikandar, Salman Khan briefly addressed the personal impact of living under constant surveillance.
When asked whether the tight security was restricting his freedom, he responded with a hint of humor and resignation:
"No, it's not when I'm with the press. It's when I'm without the press that it cramps my style. Obviously, I can't do anything. It's from my residence Galaxy to shoot, and then back home after the shoot. No detours," he said.
