In a significant breakthrough against organised crime, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjab, in coordination with the Himachal Pradesh Police, has successfully apprehended four associates of the notorious Harpreet Happo gang.

These individuals were directly involved in the brutal murder of Gurpreet Singh, a gym trainer, on January 31, 2025, in Kharar, SAS Nagar, Punjab.

According to an official release from the Police Headquarters, the Kangra Police acted swiftly on secret intelligence provided by the Punjab Police, tracking down and arresting the accused in Mcleodganj.

During the operation, law enforcement officials recovered two country-made pistols, ten live rounds, and two magazines. Additionally, the vehicle used by the gang members to commit the crime and flee the scene was traced to Dharamshala.

The statement further highlighted that the Mcleodganj Police Station team played a crucial role in nabbing the suspects, who had been evading capture since the murder.

The case was initially registered at Police Station City Kharar, SAS Nagar, on February 1, 2025. Acting on intelligence inputs from Punjab Police, Kangra Police successfully apprehended the fugitives, preventing their further escape or potential criminal activities.

Following their arrest, the accused have been taken into custody by the Anti-Gangster Task Force of Punjab Police for further investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that the detained individuals were assigned target killings in Punjab by their handlers, who are believed to be operating from abroad.
