A Board Meeting of the Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (HRIDC) was held on Friday to assess the progress of key railway infrastructure projects across the state.
This was the 31st Board Meeting of HRIDC and was chaired by Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, as per an official statement. During the meeting, officials shared crucial updates and decisions concerning the commissioning of several major sections, including the Manesar-Patli line, the Kurukshetra Elevated Track, and the proposed Eastern Orbital Rail Corridor.
Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi stressed the importance of timely completion and urged all stakeholders to maintain close coordination to ensure smooth and efficient implementation of these infrastructure projects, which are critical to enhancing connectivity and stimulating economic growth in Haryana.
The meeting was informed that the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), Northern Circle, has granted approval for the remodeling of the Patli Yard, a key development in the commissioning of the Patli-Manesar priority section.
A significant milestone was achieved with the successful interconnection of the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC) with the Indian Railways network at Patli, completed on March 28. In addition, the MSIL Railway Yard has been fully developed, with work on formation, tracks, overhead electrification (OHE), and signaling and telecommunication (S&T) now complete.

The entire Manesar-Patli section, excluding the Patli Yard, is physically ready. The opening documents were submitted to Northern Railway on March 27, for onward submission to the CRS, with inspection by the Commissioner of Railway Safety expected in April.
Regarding the Kurukshetra Elevated Track Project, officials reported that construction of the elevated viaduct, track, and electrification has been completed.
Although the first phase was initially intended to be commissioned without the Thanesar Station component—allowing for the elimination of five level crossings—Northern Railway has now directed that the project be commissioned only after the completion of Thanesar Station, which has been shifted to Phase II.

The entire project, including the elevated Thanesar Station, is now scheduled to be completed by September 2025.
The feasibility study for the Eastern Orbital Rail Corridor (EORC), designed to link Sonipat to Palwal via Baghpat, Ghaziabad, and Gautam Buddha Nagar, was assigned to HRIDC by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. HRIDC completed and submitted its feasibility report to the Steering Committee of NCR (UP), chaired by the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, on February 28.
In addition to these projects, the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Garhi Harsaru–Farukhnagar–Jhajjar rail line, covering a distance of 36 km, is currently under preparation. Work on the Karnal–Yamunanagar new rail line, which spans 65 km, is also in progress.
The meeting was attended by several senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary Anurag Agarwal and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Arun Kumar Gupta, who joined other top officers to review and discuss the advancement of these strategic infrastructure projects.
