HP CM grants ₹3 cr for new hostel at Sujanpur Sainik School

Diet money for Sainik School Students to be increased from Rs 10 to Rs 50.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited the Sainik School in Sujanpur Tihra, Hamirpur district, to inspect the ongoing repair work on the school premises. 


He directed the Public Works Department to speed up the repairs and ensure timely completion. During his visit, he announced Rs 3 crore for the construction of a new school hostel and assured that the school’s budget would be increased. 


He also stated that the school ground would be upgraded with a synthetic track to enhance sports facilities for students.

 


Sukhu further declared that the diet allowance for students would be increased from Rs 10 to Rs 50 per day, improving their nutrition and overall well-being. Additionally, he announced that an ambulance would be provided to the school with the support of the local MLA to ensure better medical assistance for students.

The Chief Minister highlighted the historical significance of Sujanpur Sainik School, recalling that its foundation was laid by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. He credited successive Congress governments for their role in the school’s growth and development over the years.


During the visit, Principal Group Captain Rachna Josh and other officials presented various demands and concerns related to the school. The Chief Minister acknowledged their requests and assured them of the government's support in addressing the institution’s needs.


Several dignitaries were present at the occasion, including Vice Chairman of the State Planning Board Bhawani Singh Pathania, local MLA Captain Ranjeet Singh Rana, Bhoranj MLA Suresh Kumar, Chief Minister’s Political Advisor Sunil Sharma Bittu, and Deputy Commissioner Amarjeet Singh, along with other officials.
