Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Saturday said the National Conference government is committed to delivering on its promises without indulging in self-praise.
During a media interaction in Srinagar, the Deputy Chief Minister said, “Our party is committed to its promises. We won’t become miyamithu (self-appreciative). The work will speak for itself.”
He made these remarks after inspecting the ongoing work on the Nowgam flyover near the Cooperative Colony bridge.
He said that those working relentlessly on the ground deserved acknowledgment for pushing the project forward despite several delays. He said engineers and contractors deserve appreciation for working continuously for months.
“The deadline we have given is November 15, and the work is already underway,” he said.
On Friday, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, while addressing a gathering in Budgam, urged people not to fall for the deception of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
“We will deliver on every promise made during the election campaign. We remember our promises, and God willing, benefits will reach every deserving person after some time,” he said.
“We still have four years left to fulfill those promises,” he added.
“I would like to say something about our manifesto. We prepared the manifesto with a lot of thought. It is our promise to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. When we presented the manifesto to the people, we said we are asking for a five-year term. I would like to tell the people of Jammu and Kashmir that whatever we have said in our manifesto, in the coming five years, we will do all these things,” the Chief Minister stated.
