Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Sunday urged the people of the state to actively participate in the government's anti-drugs campaign, transforming it into a mass movement.
In an audio message, CM Mann highlighted the government's recent crackdown on drug abuse through the initiative "Yudh Nasheyan Virudh" (War Against Drugs).
He emphasised that the drug menace had spread across Punjab due to the patronage of previous regimes, but his government was committed to eradicating it completely.
A Collective Fight Against Drugs
Mann stressed that the war against drugs cannot be won without active public participation. He encouraged residents to come forward and assist the administration in identifying and eliminating drug networks operating in their communities.
To facilitate this, the state government has launched a WhatsApp helpline (9779100200) where citizens can anonymously report drug-related activities. The chief minister assured that the identity of informants would be kept confidential to encourage more people to step up.
He urged every citizen to extend their full support and cooperation in making Punjab a drug-free state, reinforcing his government’s commitment to tackling the issue head-on.
