On Tuesday, the Devbhoomi Kshatriya Samaj, a prominent organisation based in Himachal Pradesh, staged a protest against Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Ramji Lal Suman over his controversial remarks about Rana Sanga.
The protest took place outside the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat in Shimla, where members of the organisation burnt the MP's effigy in a display of their discontent. The protesters raised slogans condemning the remarks and were involved in a brief scuffle with the police as tensions escalated.
Rumit Singh Thakur, the president of the Devbhoomi Kshatriya Samaj, expressed strong disapproval of Suman's comments, stating, "We are on the streets to honour our warriors.
Those who lack understanding and knowledge of history and geography should refrain from making objectionable comments about our brave warriors. This is deeply unfortunate and will not be tolerated by the Kshatriya community." Thakur further added that the protest in Shimla was only the beginning, signaling that more action would follow.

Thakur also announced that Kshatriya groups from across the country would gather in Agra on April 12 to stage a larger protest. Members from Himachal Pradesh and other regions will come together to demonstrate solidarity against the controversial remarks made by the MP.
Rana Sanga, also known as Sangram Singh I, was the ruler of Mewar from 1508 to 1528 and is remembered as a key figure in Rajput history.
His legacy has significant cultural and historical importance for the Kshatriya community, making any derogatory comments about him a point of contention for many.
